CECU Statement on Pell Grant Exclusion in FY2025 Budget
3/11/2024
Arlington, VA – The following statement was released by CECU.
“Pell Grants are awarded to students based on their financial needs rather than the institutions in which they enroll. Thus, it is disappointing that the Biden administration has decided to penalize students attending for-profit colleges by excluding them from the Pell Grant increase proposed in the 2025 budget,” said CECU’s President and CEO, Dr. Jason Altmire. “Underserved students deserve equal access to Pell Grants and should be able to utilize them at the institutions that align best with their personal circumstances and educational goals.”
