CECU Statement on Walberg Appointment as Chairman of House Education Committee
12/12/2024
Arlington, VA – Dr. Jason Altmire, president and CEO of Career Education Colleges and Universities (CECU), offered the following statement on the appointment of Congressman Walberg as chairman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce:
CECU offers its most sincere congratulations to Congressman Walberg on his appointment as chairman. I have known and worked with Tim Walberg since we first came into Congress together in the electoral class of 2006. Through his background and experience in policies impacting workforce development, he has a comprehensive understanding of the benefits of private career schools and their life-changing impact on non-traditional students. His problem-solving approach and inclusive decision making will be an asset to the committee as it works to tackle significant challenges in higher education and make career schools more accessible and affordable for students of all backgrounds, thereby expanding the pipeline to high-demand professions. We look forward to working with Chairman Walberg on this mission in the years ahead.
